I hope so, because otherwise they are going to be empty quite soon.

Nice! If at some point you want to give another try an app, [email protected] support Piefed for good

Voyager support Piefed

Thanks for sharing

It’s worth a try!

Ah yes, there is probably a check for that kind of situations

PyLova has that feature as well: https://codeberg.org/quokkau/PyLova

Probably a good idea indeed!

Hello,
Thank you for posting those aricles. I wouldn’t worry too much about crossposting, as you can see from the comments, there are apps and other software that deals with this better, so you shouldn’t refrain too much.

Yes, that’s a ping. If I do @[email protected] , you should get an additional notification for that ping.

Piefed merges posts (and has an indicator with the number of crossposts , on the same level as the comments counter see https://piefed.zip/c/[email protected] ) in the feed view.

Piefed addreses that, as you can see in the other comments.
http://piefed.blahaj.zone/ is run by the same team as your current instance.

Hey,
Note sure if you’ve seen, but we’ve been making quite a few improvements to “old.piefed”, you can see a deployed version on https://old.piefed.zip/
It’s getting really close to feature parity (I added yesterday emoji reactions, title fetching and usernames and communities autocompletion) with the default Piefed UI, offering another option for people who want to give it a try on their phone. I do it myself, it works.
It’s not the same as a full fledged app, but while I can get around web development, mobile is a completely different beast, and I’m also not sure how happy mobile app devs are with external contributions, especially created using Claude.

Let’s see. I’m afraid it would go the same way than Discuit and Tildes: there’s motivation at first as the userbase grows, then after a while the motivation drops and the project gets stagnant.

I wouldn’t worry too much about OP. They’ve also been banned in the meantime.

It seems to have 1k subs on https://topicle.com/t/topicle/
Is there any benefit compared to something like https://discuit.org/ ?

I was talking mostly about generalist forums. Indeed topic-specific forums are still active, but that’s not something OP’s forum, Reddit or the Threadiverse tries to do.
They’re not as big as Reddit but some have an order of magnitude (at least) more users than Lemmy does.
I just checked https://forums.somethingawful.com/index.php , it shows 2,369 users logged in. A single instance like Lemmy.world has 4880 daily active users.
Enjoy! Feel free to ask on [email protected] if you have any questions
