Homo Homini Lupus Est
Shortly before these fucking price hikes I upgraded my servers with 5090s and 256GB each. Plus my gaming rig with 5090 and 128GB.
For the ram alone I could now buy a used compact car and for the 5090s another one.
If this isn’t total madness… And I once thought that 300 moneyz for a 3dfx is “a bit exaggerated”. Haha haha h haha haha.
Maybe because your whole nation orchestrated its people dumb as a doornail for decades and it finally paid off.
A horde of indoctrinated, uneducated dumb morons with a general mental horizon in nose-length, who never formed an own opinion but prefer to parrot someone’s else’s, whom they deem worthier than themselves.
And then there’s the rest of critical thinkers, like you, that probably go nuts in this dystopian nightmare that is the USA, having the might to change things equal to an ant-worker with only 3 left legs in an anthill.
I’m sorry man…
Wow you got a job? Working well for your owner? I’m happy for you man 😁
How empty inside are people that value work that much? It’s just a job, to many a necessity even. It’s just a dumb grind killing your precious sparetime.
Tried jobs some times, i was bored to death.
Ok that wouldn’t phase me personally, but sure would matter. But which serious company would employ such slop-ware, even if it would save serious bucks.
Would still prefer it over fucking adobe cloud-shit though. Hate aside.
Hence i said “innovation”… It was rarely really an innovation. And the more recent, the more your description fits.
Sadly so, I might add.
Since I was a wee lad, when the internet was just an idea, to this day, it’s the first time that “innovation” doesn’t go “higher, further, faster!” But the opposite…
Amen to that. Last gpu i bought at 2.5k€ when i thought “it only rises more, buy now or never”…then it went down again. never recovered. Now the card is already outdated and i would have to shell out another 1,5k. or 1k for AMD (slower but linux-y). But then again I was lucky with RAM. Upgrade servers and gamingrig with 2x128gb+64gb. THEN it started to rise. Now i would have to pay for the ram what the server did cost in complete. ARE THEY FUCKING NUTS?!
And I hear you. Never had a console (except the atari 2600), but seeing what Sony does pisses me off. This was one reason i boycotted steam when it started. For many years. Until i gave up, they won. And today? It’s the least bad player in the market. As long as gaben don’t die and they go public.
It’s really sad, gaming always was my passion. Tech in general. Now it mostly aggravates me. But hey, at least we have linux+FOSS left. But maybe the “AI”-bubble will burst and then shits hits the fan. Either temporarily to our benefit or…i don’t wanna continue the thought.
I’m “glad” to see that this shit also opens some eyes. Probably not enough to change anything, but it’s something.
Wouldn’t call myself a fanboy but I really loved android when it came out. Mostly had custom Roms all the time, but it got harder and harder, and in the end I spent a day just to he able to install one. I was glad if there at least was a root. Needed for backup, I would never use a cloud. Especially not google.
And I am still on the p6p. Got it when it came out. Hated google already but it were - ironically - the only brand left that was “open”. It Broke 1 day before end of guarantee and got a brand new one. And this sucker refuses to die 😁 Graphene is nice and all, but I miss root. And because I basically don’t use any “regular” app anymore, I will switch to a Linux then.
Apple… It’s tech-products for people that want tech but have not the slightest clue. Its like “my first Sony” 😁
Oh Windows…I took too long to ditch it. As a hardcore gamer I never even thought about switching. I use mostly Linux for all my servers, but never used any GUI. But then I tried cachyos, super worried on a second nvme parallel to win. Nearly all games work, rarely any tweaking needed. And instead of having to write my own tool for months to move my windows where I want them and how, I use KDE win-rules. God I love KDE. Never ever booted win again. And I even made a VM out of it for “super emergencies”…never started it.
Now I just need the “downgrade” from nvidia to and…
Can’t say though which company’s shit made me snap and ditch all US-bigtech. Reddit helped a lot…
Totally… I also “solved” it best i could. One dedicated totally anonymous phone for android-auto and one for banking-apps (they ALL need their fucking apps even though i use HBCI with most). Main phone is an aging pixel with graphene. The moment it dies (i’m waiting for many years now) i’m going some linux-phone, no matter how lacking it might be.
Apple is a no-go. But yes, at least there’s “only” one that i have to bend over for. But I was there when they tried so hard with “pay less, get more!” and now it’s “get less, pay a lot more you dumb stupid consumer-trash-idiot”. I would be ashamed of myself for using one.
But yes. It sucks. And i was dumb enough to kinda believe google with “android will always remain free and open!”. Yeah sure. Go fuck yourself.
Android is google? You don’t say? 😉
And Apple is doing the same shit as google. At least they never tried to hide it
So…kinda like what apple and google are doing too 😁
Oh yeah great, let them harden their fucking monopoly of the net even more. I’m tired boss.
Don’t use shit if you don’t really like shit. Who still uses google for simple search? It had its peak a loooooong time ago.
And you know what’s sad? Your bitter sarcasm was fun, while all those “articles”, that get stretched to infinity, are not.
I’m no AI-fan, but this is where they shine: “sum this shit up into 1-2 sentences of actual info, remove useless filler”.
I miss RSS as news. Pure, simple, no nonsense.
…and they managed to make a while “article” about that simple info. That’s why I stopped consuming all that shit.
Thanks for summing it up mate.
“Need” is a strong word 😁 Mostly I totally don’t. But running a windows-vm for some stubborn games takes a lot and still leaves plenty e.g.
