Maybe. The building exists, yes, but a lot of those buildings were built in the 1940s or so. The HVAC is retrofit, and there might be power, but probably not as much as they’d want and probably not the right Internet connection.
A lot of them are in cities, too, since they needed to be near the people with telephones. That means they’ll be generating a lot of noise right where people are living.
Not to mention, the telcos probably don’t want to give them up. They do use some of them (the one nearest me is a training site) but the land and building are also fairly valuable. Utilities don’t like to give up stuff like that.

You’d be surprised how easy it is to contaminate a concrete pour.

ARM SBC or NUC with an N150 processor
Edit: oh, 2 internal disks? What kind, nvme, 2.5" ssd, or 3.5" hdd?

I don’t know if there’s empirical data, but at least from personal experience I’ve noticed a lot of those projects are straight up gone after like a week. Like I’ll see it posted in some Lemmy community, and I’ll check it again later and the repo just plain doesn’t exist any more.
A lot of others I see were created in a very short time, and then months later there’s a dozen open issues and no response from the repo owner.

I wonder, could you file a DMCA takedown request since it’s your own posts and comments?

Because vibe-coded projects are almost never maintained. Usually they’re abandoned after a very short time.

They don’t care, they just want to make some easy money.

People with a strict style guide. I’ve seen it in a number of projects over the years.

It doesn’t look like AI output.

What “this” are you referring to? The community? The mod list is on the sidebar. I assume that info federates to piefed.

No, it’s Inalligator.
Also, it’s not a real alligator.

They’ve already been posted by others. No point in duplication.
I passed the Anubis or whatever captcha it was when I first visited the page. You might be right, but they’ve already lost my interest.

“Powered by FUTO”, front and center.
Yeah, and I can see agent files in the daemon repo, so the project is configured for AI. But if I try checking the commit history I get a login page and if I try actually opening files I get the “NO!” on all subsequent pages. Go ahead, try it. Any project hiding their stuff like that makes me very distrustful.
Looks AI. I tried to look at the source on their gitlab server but it just said “NO!” Like literally, that’s what the page said. I’ll pass.
I don’t think there is a shortage of cheap rackmount ATX cases. Any 3U case or larger should fit a full size GPU, though if you need a power cable coming out the long edge you might need 4U.

It is. Jet engines are very efficient. But they also have to run high to reach that efficiency. But if you’re running at high power for most of the time, like a jet aircraft or datacenter generator, then it makes sense. It doesn’t matter whether your turbine shaft is connected to a fan or an electric generator rotor.
