Yes, if you personally choose to define a term differently from how it is actually defined, then you can do that.
Kinda pointless having a conversation with someone who means down when they say up tho.

You ever wonder why they specify that other instances can have their own political views and they’d like to see someone else run a liberal instance?
It’s because they have specific political views, and do not believe in the liberal notion of the right to self-determination and redress of grievances.

I don’t really give a fuck about allegations from an .ml
I just don’t understand why you can’t stay in your little world. I stay out of yours, why you gotta bring your shit here?

Well, at least you can read subtext half the time. Probably explains why you read for calling everyone “shithead”.
Astonishing creativity, by the way. Simply incredible

That seems…obvious?
Why would the effects of reduced population happen before the population is reduced?

Ah, I see my instructions were not clear. You did great with the first step!
So the second step, I now realize the link isn’t “about this instance”, but it is actually labelled “what is lemmy.ml”. You can actually see it in your screenshot, right above the rules!
I’m very sorry for the confusion, I know it can be a complicated procedure.

Yep. There’s a big bowl of shit, and some day it must be eaten. The choice becomes: do you eat the shit, or do you add a little squirt and pass it to your kids?

I mean. You can also just go to their front page and read the “about this instance” paragraph where they clarify that they support a specific political ideology and will not tolerate dissent.
They explicitly built a walled garden. Don’t be surprised they maintain the walls. There are other instances.

People are already anthropomorphizing AI. That’s a good chunk of the problem. If you get used to being shitty to an AI that takes it, then you’re a lot more likely to be shitty when you go touch grass.
This is also the best argument I ever heard against AI friend/relationship apps. It’s teaching you a certain style of communication which may well prove catastrophic in real life relationships.

From what I understand (very limited knowledge here, might be BS) YouTube actually pays creators more than pretty much any other platform.
I just flag every email from IT and HR as a phish
