It’s bad for your lungs because your sinuses humidifies air before it gets there. Plus it causes dry mouth and bad breath and distorts the growth of your pallette, sinuses, and face, easily leading to a deviated septum. It’s also correlated with a lower IQ.

The idea that low IQ people unconsciously do this without a medical condition and need training not to sounds totally fake though, and a back-derivation from the US slang. None of the replies I got even challenge that.

Dries out your mouth & makes your breath stink. And leads to snoring and sleep apnea, which leads to bad sleep, it’s a vicious cycle. One of the unexpected gains I got from yoga is a clearer nose to breathe through, I always felt like it was slightly blocked or small but the breathing exercises do open the airway and I guess tone up the muscles in there.

You’ll get a dry mouth and bad breath. Also might need nasal polyps sorted or hayfever meds or something if your nose is constantly blocked. Also not a good look if your resting state is a slack jaw appearance.

          Surely you’re trolling.

You do understand that there’s such a thing as “context”, and “teaching”?

“You’re in charge of game night” is quite different from “I am now going to murder you”.
