I would really focus on what features she likes of the Apple ecosystem and replace those. For me, I started being in the Apple ecosystem because all my colleagues used it and it was kind of expected for me to fit in. So no amount of “you can replace this with that” could have convinced me.

I feel you with the “move in 24 hours”. I made multiple international moves with one or two suitcases and an easyjet flight. Now with a family and years of accumulated possessions, last move took months of planning and a moving truck.

It happened to me in my 20s! I was playing cards with some friends and one of them was dealing. The split second later, I ask where my cards were. Apparently, I fell asleep while they were dealing the cards, slept exactly through a full game and abruptly woke up while they were dealing cards again.
Reminds me of a university oral exam I had… I got a super hard question first, nailed it but took a long time. Got a second question but my mind just blanked. I looked at the assistant and said, “I am sorry, I don’t know the answer”. Assistant “prof just gave you full credit”
Extremely interesting… so the depreciation of older models is extreme, while new models are constantly presented. And all the while no AI company is making any profit. This whole story is bonkers
I take a small issue with “people/parents that care”, I would rather replace it with “unavailable”. In an economic that requires people to work insane hours for little pay, where depression and anxiety are rampant, it might not be the parents’ fault for not being there. They might care but be stuck at work. Let’s extend grace to our fellow humans
