Some thoughts just shouldn’t be articulated, they should remain merely thoughts. This is one of those occasions.

It will lock the US into permanent, irrevocable decline. Up to now it’s technically been a nose-dive that could have been pulled out of.

This will absolutely seal the deal, permanently. From the massively increased costs of everything, to the future political (and financial) costs of being the last massive polluter left when everyone else pivots to cheaper renewables less dependent on oil cartels and proxy wars.
