2·7 days agoWell I think the rogue Ai thing was also pushed so that the owners of Ai company’s can have the platform to get people to listen about how we shouldn’t be accelerating the use and expansion of Ai but rather, trying to make more regulations surrounding it.
I think bad news for good publicity, happens more than we think and I think that in this economy, an economy where people are choosing between groceries and medication people can’t afford to lose an opportunity to earn.
I think that making a hacked delivery drone bash into a wall with a person who knows it’s gonna happen move out of the way at the last second while the drone goes at high velocity, could be the bad publicity for good purposes. It’ll make a lot of companies contemplate the roll out, it’ll prolong it from happening and it’ll give more people time to protest.
☝🏻 However, it is a crime to steal, hack and destroy a delivery drone and I do not promote nor condone the actual attempt.

1·7 days agoor like someone sets a ride, you accept , you pick them up, drop them off, collect pay and move on to the next person… file taxes at the end of the month… make a federal minimum and rely on deliveries to make up the rest like servers/waiters who make the majority of their paycheck based on tips… make it so anyone anywhere with a car and clean driving background can do the job as long as they’re over a certain age and have a license and a car to use…
Maybe we just like make it make sense and leave them all as gig economy services that people can make money from…
Like maybe we just leave it the fuck alone and take drones out of the equation?

23·7 days agoIdeally delivery robots should be state owned and accountable to democratic processes. They are a valuable and useful innovation to solve logistic problems. A way to reshape how neighborhoods are build and planned and make them more energy efficient.
Gig economy. You’re saying that the state(s) should be making all the money and that they should have control over when people can order goods by saying that they should be the owners of the drones.
Currently, the owners of the vehicles are the delivery drivers. Uber, GrubHub, Seamless, DoorDash, Lyft, UberEats and InstaCart, are all outlets for people who have downtime to make extra money and it’s also a great starter job to get experience for a resume.
I think that drones taking jobs is going to push people to disrupt another market and sorry not sorry but fuck anyone who brings up the car thing when you and I know go damn well who ever is reading this uses rideshare services and delivery services. You also got people who don’t drive and use rideshare services and people who use them to cut the cost of getting somewhere if you don’t want to spend money on fuel from traffic in the inner cities.

208·7 days agoSteal one and inject a virus into it and then make it run into a wall a bunch of times, ensuring the complete destruction of the device… 😜 Call the nearest news outlet and claim that the robot was suicidal-homicidal and was trying to smash you and it into a wall and wait for a news report. The robots get pushed back by skepticism of safety towards humans.

44·9 days agoI’ve been reading, “the end is near,” since HIV/Aids, y2k, 9/11, the SARS outbreak, the anthrax scare, the swine flu/h1n1 and the several ebola outbreaks. Oh yeah all those wmd scares and the potential for a world War after 9/11.
The end is always fuckin’ near. If it’s all gonna end fuckin’ do it already!!! That’s what I think and it’s the waiting and the probabilities of the what-ifs that I can’t fucking take.
Seriously, if they wanted to end it all they could, they just make threats to control everything with fear because all governments are terrorist fucking babys that ironically, need to maintain a society.

1·13 days agoLet’s hope that wanting to further humanity will cause that bubble to burst. You know what I think though, I think they’ll milk it for all it’s worth and they’ll use every single tactic to try to make people think it’s safe when it comes to the appreciation (used in mental health terms of: Appreciation in mental health refers to the cognitive and emotional process of recognizing, valuing, and feeling thankful for the meaningful aspects, people, or experiences in one’s life) of humanity.
In reality AI has never experienced humanity only knows how to react to it and in reality AI will never be able to experience our humanity and trying to allow it to or trying to get there, is not only expensive but it’s dangerous and as smart as you have to be to get it to work, you’d also have to be the worlds biggest dumbass. If there’s a team of people out there right now trying to make it work, they’re fucking idiots because they’re using their intelligence on a gamble and smart people don’t gamble on theory, yes they test the waters on experimentation but usually for the greater good of humanity like trying to cure a virus but if the price is humanity, if the cost is our planet… It’s not intelligence, it’s haste.

4·23 days agothe router don’t have feelings. the router is literally the biggest waste of money and I wish I had put in the effort to find a router that doesn’t FUCKIN SUCK!!! I do everything they say to make this fucker better too. Put it up on a shelf, put it at least two rooms away from the microwave, unplug it every two weeks for 20 mins to cool it off, don’t use bluetooth directly within 12 ft of it. It’s one of the models made within the past decade, it’s supposed to be good it just fuckin sucks. You know what gimmie a second !!!
I just busted out my goddamn tape measure!!! I am sitting two rooms away in my kitchen, 24 fucking feet not even 50 feet away from this piece of fuckin shit and I’m getting 550 mbps out of the 750mbps my wifi is supposed to pick up.
I go one more room away, to the bathroom, which is nearing 39 feet away from the piece of fuckin’ shit, the internet disconnects while I shit.
Yeah, I liberally, “verbally abuse,” my inanimate object that has no feelings.
