What DNS software are you running?

I’ve been running it on a Debian VPS for years as a test. So far not a single problem, although I don’t let it reboot on its own (I do monthly reboots, that I am thinking of changing to fortnightly).

You can try EU.org possibly.

I use nightly backups. I keep them 2 weeks.
After that I keep a weekly backup for 2 months.
After that I keep a monthly backup for 2 years.
I keep my yearly backups forever.

ccTLD are best, as they don’t have a contract with ICANN setting their service. While ICANN tries to be a multi-stakeholder, international organization with broad representation… underneath all the bylaws and process and so on it is a US company incorporated in California.
Probably the TLD of your own country is good!
If you don’t care about that, then either .coffee or .soy for sure. 😉

I have a (former?) friend who says that. He’s fully addicted to algorithm-induced rage. He sends me 3 or 4 Islamophobic and/or Zionist videos from Instagram or X or Facebook every day for some reason.

The answer is AGPLv3, or an exception if a corporation pays for one (in which case it just becomes a commercial license).

I don’t like Apple. I find their UI to be hard to use and counter-intuitive. Their walled garden / vendor lock-in is a model of monopoly behavior that is terrible.
However, unlike most other US tech giants when you use their stuff you are the customer, not the product. It is in Apple’s interest to keep their customers happy.
So on one hand it is surprising that they would upset their customers like this.
However, capitalism dictates that if their is also a chance of making money by making you both the customer and the product, Apple has to take it.
So on the other hand completely unsurprising. 😅
You need to have an authoritative DNS server listening and answering somewhere. Is this running at your home?
If it is, then try querying the IP directly. The most commonly used tool is “dig”, but other ones are available. It should look something like:
dig @your-public-IP subdomain.eu.org
