Bookstores, publishers, writers, etc etc are also very useful and profitable even with the existence of public libraries.

Impossible to imagine anything so extremely useful as AI not being profitable in the long run. No sarcasm.

Accenture is a technology consulting company. Nobody needs technology consultants with AIs around, because AIs are more capable, much faster, and much cheaper than almost all consultants. Their standard hourly rates are typically in the same ballpark as AIs’ highest subscription monthly rates.
Therefore, as their sales start drying up, Accenture is starting to save money wherever it can before it needs to start firing people.

Who told you to be angry about it?
Note though that the article is pitting open-weight models against each other, not open-weight models vs closed models. The latter still remain quite a lot better from the US labs.

Why would anyone use a fortune on AI? A Claude subscription costing $200 will give a single person more tokens than they can probably use in a week. That’s almost nothing if you compare it to a programmer’s salary and the amount of leverage it can give them.
Then again, yeah, some people are just extremely dumb.

“but”? Isn’t that exactly what reviewers are for?
The actual news of the article: LLM helped do a significant piece of work that human developers had failed to do for two years.

Defederate lemmy.ml
Then again, if you can do that, why not just use pass

Leftists promising AI collapse is like Musk promising full FSD.

So you selfishly want others to fail and yourself to thrive. That’s an honest position, but perhaps not very ethical. Incidentally almost exactly the same position the billionaires take.

If you’re into something like physicalism, then human intelligence is also just an emergent quality and we have about as much free will as the machines.

I find it completely implausible that an AI can’t beat humans at StarCraft.

I haven’t tried it, but seems to be difficult enough that practically everyone uses the SDK. And also, before the SDK existed, practically nobody was successful in doing it.
The google forest cuts were 0.05% of the annual felling in Finland. Are we doing civilizational damage 2000 times worse, every year, than what Google did?
