There have been widespread misconceptions in media reports about a unified social credit “score” based on individuals’ behavior, leading to punishments if the score is too low or rewards if the score is high.

Depends on the big company. Like the one I worked for had a budget for specific software requests. Nobody used it, so I could snack through all the stuff and try everything.
Same glitch back in the day at the university library. You could request books and they just bought them, because apparently nobody else ever requested anything. I requested all the books and they just bought them, happy to be of service.

Funnily I feel just the other way around ^^
Like, it’s only 10$ for something as fundamental as a search engine. It gives me way better results than any other engine I tried, and so far they kept their promise of making it better for me and not for some advertiser or data collector.
And then a streaming service wants more than that, is not as important in my daily life and chances are that the one thing I’d like to watch right now is on another service anyway.
Although I have to say, that recently I find the results not so good anymore. But I suspect that’s more to do with LLMs, because people just don’t communicate their troubleshooting anymore. So if I search “how do I get xy to work”, there’s just no quality content about it anymore, as people ask their LLM.
It’s local. You can tell by how your computer dies from inference, when you upload new assets 😅. And you can run the models on another computer separately and watch that one die then, when you upload new assets.

More like…convince the managers to use the car for free with dick and balls logo or pay for it to have another logo?! If the car does what it should and is better than the alternatives, a good manager would probably pay up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

It’s R&D, hardware
“Yeah, besides those integral parts of our costs, we’re profitable”
😅.
It’s like a hair dresser saying “If I don’t count the rent of my shop and all the supplies, I’m profitable”.
Erm, a “dual target” is different from “we want to eliminate this military installation, but we cannot avoid hitting civilians with our current capabilities”. Dual target means exactly that “we want to hit civilian stuff just as much as military targets”.
I don’t know where this “they tried hitting war infrastructure” myth comes from.
Same with the bombing in Germany. They literally rebuild German city houses in the desert, to figure out the best way how to blow off the roof and set the wooden structures inside on fire.
They measured fire brigade response times to stage the bombing in a way to hit the rescue efforts.
It was about demoralizing the civil populace, so of course it was never about military targets.

I mean, would be neat to make something like “I want to fly there, so give me options, check also for rental cars and vacation homes with this-and-those constraints, give me a list and prices” and have it have a go on it. That would really make family vacation easier if I could trust the results.
But, lo and behold, I cannot trust the results at all, so it keeps being a fantasy (which destroys the world in the meantime, like, ecologically and economically). Then again: after destroying everything, no need for family vacation planning, so, yeah?
Ansible is one way to “code local, push to remote(s)”. Can define so-called playbooks, which is basically just a script, to do reoccuring tasks like e.g. updates.
Have you read about the punishments in the Wiki article?
