Me too

Remember the community D&D episode, then they pulled it forever because of the blackface joke with the dark elf face paint?
Is not even licensing, it’s just some exec had an opinion that maybe this is the least bit controversial or not in the current political zeitgeist.

Jesus Christ. Why?! How?
Edit: I can’t figure out how to upload gifs to Lemmy… please imagine castle-nathan.gif

The opening of Silicon Valley hits so fucking hard.
I don’t know how Mike Judge is consistently so right.

I’ve worked in tech a long time and never have I seen an actual risk model used.
I have had CEOs tell me they don’t like my analysis and there’s gold in them thar bad decision hills, and they don’t care what my numbers say.
I get some schadenfreude watching the disaster unfold, but it usually ends in decent people getting fucked over by management.

It makes me think of yoshi or bubble bobble.

Okay but have you considered the fun and non-offensive corporate Memphis monster branding?
I mean, look at that thing! It’s practically begging to have your back password, as a treat!
It is possible to monotonically increase and asymptotically approach a fixed boundary.
However, in real life you can’t increase the amount of meat in a portion less than some amount of atoms, probably a cell is the smallest unit of meat, so we’ll go with adding 1 cell of meat each kebab.
The smallest animal cell is apparently the sperm cell, but I don’t think anon wants his kebab made with increasing amounts of animal jizz, so we’ll instead go with muscle fibres instead.
According to scientists, there’s around 630-ish Mt of domesticated animals on earth (eyeballing their python notebook). I’m pretty sure that includes cats/dogs/rats, but it’s that or we measure with sperm on the kebab. Let’s say the yield of meat is 50%, that’s 275 Mt = 275e6 grams.
Apparently 1cm of meat is around ~1e7 cells (this is the weakest number in the analysis), so we have 275e6*1e7=2.75×10e15 total cells to distribute onto anon’s kebabs.
Each kebab we have to add 1 more cell than the prior kebab (1 on day 1, 2 on day 2, and so on). The total number of cells consumed on kebab N is a triangle number, N * (N + 1) / 2, which we can solve to 74,161,984 kebabs. After which, there’s simply not enough meat to make the remaining kebab.
Now, if we go back to the sperm example, I’m sure that could be renewably farmed, but the problem grows linearly in nature still.
No, it’s a monotonically increasing amount of meat

I’ve been moving off Gmail for years, it’s not easy.
I have family that will not update their contact books, old contacts, sites that won’t let you change address or move off Google sign in.
All the important stuff was easy, the rest is forwarding or making sure my app checks the legacy Gmail

Actually, figured this out, it happened to me today
Claude was pulling UTC time and not integrating my locale, so it things is scary hours later than it actually is. Update your agent markdown with your locale and it’ll work.
No idea the incompetence that led to this change.

He’s said this every year for 3 years straight.
“Like a phd in your pocket” followed by completely wrong graphs in the presentation and website.

Isn’t this the logic that lead to Chromebooks and the illiteracy crisis?
Sure, take this heavily discounted tech for your digital native kids. Just make sure they use only our software, never learn what files are, never have access to the terminal where they might customize their system, and we have all their data.
I was taught if something seems too good to be true it isn’t, and also there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

I’ve never had that happen.
For me it just pretends it did something fully and drops requirements.

The hard thing about email is getting all your contacts to use your he address, it is not migrating your email history. So owing the domain is the most important thing you can do.
You do not have to own your email server, if you have the domain you can go wherever.
You do then have to defend your domain name, which means making sure it will not expire and is locked.

They only have documentation in the form of agent skills…
I don’t get this though, is there a desktop environment if you buy the hdmi one, or is it like a browser in kiosk mode, do all the apps use the same components? How do does transfer between web apps, especially since the docs point app development to be silos?
A lot of interesting ideas for managing a self hosted app stack though.
What would be cool is if they had centralized managed s3 and vebored databases but behind the scenes it was working to a shared cross app system. Then you could set up search indexes and stuff on that.

This is the tip of the iceberg.
I wait for the day LG and Samsung are held responsible for their practices that 100x worse than this. Sure, the default apps aren’t so bad, but their app ecosystem is tainted.
My estimates are over 1/3 US households have residential proxies installed, and they’re operated by homogeneous groups that are able to make guarantees to their clients about address uniqueness. This bother isn’t even 1% of the problem. Realistically the number of infected devices is actually higher, probably more than half of residential connections have at least one infected device — I was only able to establish a floor.
I’m not a malware researcher though, I was only doing this for a one-off job earlier this year.

That reminds one, my dishwasher leaked so I went to download the manual from the manufacturer.
That got me a ban from Cloudflare. Apparently downloading a pdf from a website is bot behaviour.
American tech companies are going too far.

Yeah, I tried asking it how to flash a modded tv webOS and it flagged the chat.
I asked it to fuzz my own code (a jwt integration) and it flagged the chat. There was an unbounded buffer that could have been exploited, but it’s happy to hide that since I’m not a large corpo.
Honestly the shit Claude does is unusable anymore. It’s developed a habit of dropping requirements when problems are hard now.
ETA: Chinese models and Mistral were happy to help. I discovered I could use eMuhdra against an iot device in my house that way, I found various input errors, these things have improved my security so much more than they create risks.
What was it?
I haven’t seen it since season one.
