LOL when I read it my first impression was: Oh wow, I didn’t know UK also had a city called Kentucky, good that they pointed out it is not in US.

We learned, we put mechanisms in place. We got people in power that actually wants this to happen so they steal even more wealth from us.
I think there should be no bailouts.

Since it is remote execution in UEFI, does that mean if you compromised the system you can now use this to install a backdoor in the firmware so wiping and reinstalling won’t help?

It has its issues, but yeah currently it is the cheapest source of power, it got so cheep that individuals can build their personal power plant for their home.
And we still have idiots fighting it. Even if you don’t care about environment (you are “drill baby drill” kind of person) it still makes sense economically.

This is great. This was one of things that I disliked about Lemmy, as being federated makes it harder to use external search engines.
I think that might be the final thing to make me switch from DDG to Kagi.

The face that they are still hesitating with trump becoming highly unpopular tells me that what most likely happened is they were bought by tech bros into their technofeudalism shit.

Being short staffed is the whole point. They believe (where they are right or wrong) AI will replace large number employees. For example in my company where that are pushing vibe coding, my boss said that now they believe that the large projects need less people.
If you use AI and still have to work overtime you are your own problem. As long as you deliver why would they change anything? Don’t deliver. It is not worth sacrificing your health for someone’s else’s profits. You have only one life.
I see people who embraced vibe coding still working overtime and over weekends, more than before.

From my experience reviewing LLM generated code is many times higher.

LOL, but interested enough to respond.
You don’t have time to debate, but you found time to write that comment.
It is clear that there’s no good argument about fighting for profits for the people that are stealing from us and.
Anyone who is in California you should vote YES on proposition 40 and NO for 41 and 42 (Trojan horses that are to block 40, because they are afraid of it so much). Yes it is one time, but will open doors for a federal law in the near future.

Think of the poor billionaires!
Piracy is morally right, we don’t owe them anything.
We see that copyright only matters to them if it is convenient, the latest example is training AI on copyrighted works without licenses. But there are many others.
It is also ironic that copyright was originally created to protect small authors from having a big corporation steal their creation and profit from it. Which is still happening. This is also the reason why originally copyright supposed to last 14 years. Because it was thought that 14 years was long enough time to have monopoly on idea
Only after corporations started bribing politicians they extended it to such ridiculous times and completely changed what copyright really was.

I think what there users who mostly post and users that mostly comment (I belong to the later). Lemmy could try to bootstrap some of those communities (note: to not make it to specific) by just reposting the same posts that are posted in Reddit and see if that could increase activity.

Honestly I didn’t recall anything where things are stuck.
Are you sure that the issue on Android isn’t caused by closing a link and the app opening Firefox in its context?
If this is such a percentage issue I’d there big open about it?

That sounds like maybe you have something else set as default browser and instead of Firefox and that something is messaging it up.
I use Firefox exclusively and it works everywhere.
Unless, URLCheck (highly recommended) is somehow fixing this issue. But I don’t remember having it before either.

Big deal. My Toyota Celica beat Bolt’s record too.
Why others government employees are public, but ICE has some special treatment? Is it because they are really trump’s gestapo?
