71·10 days agoThey’re used now throughout healthcare, banking, and defense. So even among some of the most regulated and privacy-conscious spaces, many are using these tools. Refusing to use them outright is a sensible position, but it is going to get more and more difficult.
This is such a long way to propose a terrible idea.

Technology@lemmy.world•Hugging Face CEO warns that Netflix's OpenAI hack documentary isn't accurateEnglish
3·12 days agoI haven’t seen it, but I thought the agents communicating via the artifact folders was the most fascinating thing about the whole ordeal by a landslide.
Not mad at all? That seems nonsequitur.

1·30 days agoI suspect we’re on the same side here with only a slightly different perspective. I’m on complete agreement that ladybird, aside from its controversy, and servo represent way more diverse entries for new browsers to consider. I’m just saying WebKit is better for diversity than blink. Only by 5x or so but still, that’s something. Making the decision to start a browser today, 100% I’m going with servo.

2·1 month agoThey forked almost 15 years ago. Of course they share some code, but not a lot. And even still… so? Or course it helps diversify when blink has nearly 80% market share.

5·1 month agoWhen Orion started, the Servo project was kind of dead. It wasn’t until a year later at FOSDEM, that they announced the refresh that started development up again. A great choice now, but at the time, and still today, WebKit is also a decent choice, as long as one doesn’t mind that most of its development and optimization targets the Apple ecosystem.

1·5 months agoFascinating how uttering the term “AI” can cause so many downvotes even when the system is just a harness that runs self hosted and can use completely openweight, even self trained models. Or maybe many on Lemmy just hate pewdiepie.
Great. Step in the right direction, but he needs to go.
