Any idea why they think it’s good?

Libre office is at least on par. In my experience it has far fewer bugs and is far less frustrating to use.

Also banks have been quitly offloading debt they undersigned for data center buildout, but that’s a different issue.
If so, that suggests they’ve learnt since last time. That’s probably for the best, as the banking system collapsing is not a good thing for anyone.
That’s not to say that they should escape scrutiny in all of this.

That’s it.

And I’m sure you’ve noticed how all the revenue and profit numbers that leak out ignore “one off” costs like training and data centre building.

€19 sounds like a per user subscription deal, but I didn’t think they were available to commercial customers anymore? What am I missing?

Their IPOs are how they cash out and walk away. It’s just a matter of “does it crash before or after?”. Yes they’ll be anxious about getting there, but the fact the market is still behind them and they’re this close is very bad for the rest of us.

Don’t pay the bill. They’ll force you to quit before long.

Nvidia bribe the UK for $250m

The Ascention Islands are going to lose a lot of revenue.

5 years ago we were mid-pandemic. That’s a big knowledge gap.

The data is there, but it’s not in what those companies say. It’s in the books of the companies they have relationships with.
I do agree with your second statement though.

I’m not sure how much distillation and building on top of each others results is going on. I could see all the models freeze in development when the money leaves the segment.
A model frozen in the past has limited usefulness.

If you want it’s “knowledge” to be up to date, the training never ends.

Why wouldn’t you include training? Training is vital to their product.

They’re playing all kinds of games with the numbers right now. They’re trying to IPO so hiding costs under other headings outside the core business. Don’t trust what they openly state. It’s far worse.

I really hope not, because that’s how they steal money from working people with 401k plans.

Useful doesn’t mean profitable, sustainable or cost effective.
You’re not paying the real cost right now.
Libre office certainly exceeds the web edition of office in functionality. I’m not aware of a gap to the desktop version, but I’m not a power user for sure. That lack of multi-user editing is almost a feature for me given how often other people have screwed up my spreadsheets in Excel.
What i think really happens is that people compare whilst trying to swap documents back and fore with MS office. When judged on that level it comes off poorly, but that’s not a fair metric. MS has intentionally worked against compatibility.
