Police confirmed they had responded to a report of “criminal mischief involving a robot” on the 1200 block of Filbert Street around 1:16 p.m. on Wednesday. A woman on the scene ignored “multiple commands” to move, they said, resulting in a criminal violation notice for disorderly conduct.
Uber declined to comment.
Marvin, who plans to contest the charge on the grounds of her First Amendment right to protest, has been undeterred by the arrest. She plans to continue blocking Uber Eats robots and chatting with curious passersby who ask what she’s doing.
“It allows me to talk to people about what’s going on,” she said. “It’s always very interesting conversations that we have, and I think it’s good to have those kinds of conversations in public space.”

Spending your time inconveniencing delivery robots is 100% jobless behaviour.
Is that really the best thing you have to do with your time?
“Carolyn Marvin, 78…”
Going hazard a guess that this is probably what gets her up in the morning.
It’s good to still have purpose and goals at that age.
She’s a real hero getting up every day and doing the hard work for the good of humanity… [checks notes]… blocking delivery bots…
Did you not read that she is retired??
Many retired people make productive contributions to society and their own lives.
And many don’t do anything. What is your point?
Wow you got a job? Working well for your owner? I’m happy for you man 😁
How empty inside are people that value work that much? It’s just a job, to many a necessity even. It’s just a dumb grind killing your precious sparetime.
Tried jobs some times, i was bored to death.
I mean, unironically. She was already retired
I know plenty of retired people who do productive things with their time. Unlike this lady.
Doubtful
