Under the radar, those “environmentalists” were possibly funded by petroleum companies.

My first video game (Zaxxon) was on a cassette tape, before VHS (early 80s). Each time we wanted to start a gaming session, we had to download the game from a shoebox cassette player to the CoCo 2 computer, and it took 2 or 3 minutes.

So now I can pay to be a target for authoritarian satellite weapons?

Ah but you should also check China’s population vs that of the US, that will put things in perspective. Also check if China’s pollution is due to being a manufacturing hub for other countries that might outsource their own manufacturing. You might be surprised. You can’t pay China to pollute for you and then blame China for polluting for you. Also, the US used to sell many ICE cars to China. The US can’t blame China for polluting if the US pushes pollution sources to China. China has been electrifying to push back against those ICE cars from the US. Polluting to produce solar panels is also much cleaner overall than polluting to produce even more pollution sources.

China subsidizes electrification while the US subsidizes fossil fuels. Both interfere, but the US in a way that further accelerates global warming.

The US and its O&G and car industries absolutely let China become the main manufacturer of batteries and EVs.
Like Exxon, the US knew electrification was the future because of climate change, but tried to dismiss it. China seized the opportunity like a true capitalist, while the US government interefered with the free market to hinder electrification. This has been going on for over 20 years now.

You cannot have a binding decision without providing the reasons that led to it, and AI never provides such reasons. No one will obey unexplained decisions.

A source that a car and a washing machine both use 240V? Sure you could.

For the cost of running a washing machine.

LOL! I got a downvote for such an obvious comment! I wonder who it’s from! 🤣

I expect they will keep trying to hold back EVs and compete forever, so never let your guard down. There will always be someone, somewhere, wanting to pump oil and feed it to a combustion engine for money. They’ll say it’s their culture, for Jesus, for their family, to feed baby koalas, to revive a poor dead rat, or whatever it takes to burn some form of petroleum, change climate, and try to buy a yacht or an island.

People on a budget do not buy new cars. Yet EV critics sure are careful not to ever mention second hand EVs. Is that ignorance or strategic ICE promotion?

Fill in the blank:
ICEs are available new.
ICEs are available second hand.
EVs are available new.
EVs are available _____________.

Depreciation is irrelevant and only brought up by combustion promoters. A car is a tool, not an investment in itself. The only relevant metric is overall yearly cost until the car dies.
Changing cars every few years, which is where depreciation matters, is an expensive luxury no one actually has to play.
For as long as I can remember, the entire world has had 400-something running nuclear power plants. I suspect 400-something is a fundamental nuclear constant.
