Normal milk can’t be stored without refrigeration for several months, regardless of whether its open or not.

UHT (ultra heat treated / ultra-pasteurized) milk can be stored at room temperature. Tastes a little different but I actually prefer it.

Considering that Valve is headquartered in the US and not known for being especially antifascistic, I’d be rather surprised if that’s not also true for Valve/Steam. But sure, GOG and CD Project Red (same company) aren’t saints, they are a business.
