The water tank behind the toilet sometimes hisses due to how it works. Most people conveniently ignore it because sleep-adled brains are fucking idiots.
a possibility nobody has mentioned yet: undiagnosed psychosis
though other possibilities like the water tank, a fart, or anything else innocuous are probably more likely
Or any brain-related condition might cause this eerie feeling of uneasiness, that there is someone in the room, auditive hallucinations, etc.
I would check with my doctor next day.
Not even pathological though - exhaustion will do this. I used to be so tired (life situation exhausting) and more than once got up to pee in the night, sat on the toilet but was not completely convinced I was awake not dreaming so couldn’t pee. Dreams intruding on that barely awake state is, I don’t want to say normal, but not unusual either.
It never happens now I am better rested.
check for gas leaks
Another Channer gets spooked by his own farts lol
My dog does this sometimes.
I always laugh when mine is sleeping then wakes himself up by farting…
It would explain the gut feeling
open all the lights
Anon is an idiot.
Anon obviously lives in a gas lighted house, so it’s technically correct to say open as you’re opening gas valves
Anon is a Victorian idiot.
;-)
There’s a reason Victorian houses are the most haunted.
I think someone just pissed all over their own house.
Carbon monoxide?
The lid was down
Maybe he drank some cider?
There is anecdotal evidence that it can lead to an overwhelming sense of impending doom.
Real: Actual monsters are everywhere at all times, but only come to your bathroom at night.
Heterosexual: Those monsters have genitalia, and if you’re charming enough, you can initiate various forms of intercourse with them.
Or just like, run around your house peeing everywhere while opening lights.
How does one hiss in a deep male voice?
[Hisses masculinely]
Holy shit brooo do that again
